Fee Details:

14261: Measuring biomass and identifying Benthic stream invertebrates

Each sample will be split into halves. One half will be used to measure ash free biomass of invertebrates. For the other half, macroinvertebrates will be sorted and identified using research quality dissecting microscopes. If samples have >750 organisms, they will be subsampled such that approximately 500 invertebrates/sample are identified. These estimates assume aquatic invertebrates will be identified to at least family, preferably genus level. Chironomidae will be identified to tribe. Non-insectan taxa will often be identified to coarser levels.
